single stroke of color

Mark Grotjahn, an american painter centers each of his work with a single stroke of color; from which rays (or wings) emanate. The paintings are monochromatic. But according to the descriptions, the luster of the painted surface vibrates and oscillates.

Originating from the “butterfly effect” where a slightest movement could cause a tornado, his modern abstraction stands between the geometric design and the expression.
