when the color changes the course of the history..

have been recently watching BBC series on the history of three colors, three colors that change the way we behave and even the course of the history.

gold, white and blue.

for the blue, we learn that..

“When, in the Middle Ages, the precious blue stone Lapis Lazuil arrived in Europe from the East, blue became the most exotic and mysterious of colours. And it was artists who used it to offer us tantalizing glimpses of other worlds beyond our own.
Taking us on an adventure from Renaissance Venice all the way to the dark side of the Moon, Dr. Fox introduces to the heavenly glory of Giotto’s Arena Chapel, the wild imaginings of the Romantics and a tortured Picasso in the midst of his Blue Period.

We are transported by the electric blues of Yves Klein and brought back down to Earth with pioneering photographs from space showing us our fragile blue planet.” via BBC media center
